I’m Val Miranda, an award-winning landscape photographer based in Scotland. Four years ago, I picked up a camera inspired by the wild beauty of the Scottish landscape—and I haven’t looked back since.

My journey has taken me from formal training to exhibiting my work and serving as a council member of the Edinburgh Photographic Society. But at the heart of it all, I’m just someone who loves being out in nature, chasing the perfect light, and capturing the authentic, lesser-known corners of Scotland—especially those tranquil scenes around water that always seem to call my name.

This blog is a space where I’ll share more than just finished photos. You can expect behind-the-scenes stories, tips on landscape photography, thoughts on post-processing (especially when time is tight!), and reflections on balancing creativity with other commitments.

I’ll also highlight some of my favourite locations, offer insights for fellow photographers, and maybe even throw in a few classic rock references for good measure!
